Things have been rocky between Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashians ever since she released her new memoir (opens in new tab)The Secrets of My Life (opens in new tab). In the tell-all book, Jenner delves into her journey of transitioning and relationship with her celebrity family, including her marriage with Kris Jenner, who isn't very happy about what 's written about her. ("Basically, the only nice thing [Caitlyn] could say was that I was great socially at a party one time," she ranted.)
Kim responded to the book (opens in new tab) on a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show: "I don't think it's necessary. I just feel like it's unfair, things aren't truthful." She added that Caitlyn was dishonest on "certain things" about her mother. "My heart breaks for my mom," she said.
Jenner answered Kim's comments (opens in new tab) in a new interview on Australia's Today Show:
"I love Kimberly, we have a very good relationship. She has been very good with me," she said, when asked about Kim's remarks. "There is a lot of drama in the Kardashian family—yeah, I know, that's shocking to everybody—but I love all my children, including Kim."
She also dropped a major bombshell, that she and her step-daughter currently aren't on speaking terms. "To be honest with you, I really haven't talked to her in a long time. I've kind of let everything calm down. So I kind of keep my distance. I'm out right now trying to make a difference in the world," Jenner said, according to News.com.au (opens in new tab).
Although her book has received scathing reviews from the Kardashians ("I've never been so angry and disappointed in somebody in my whole life," Kris said (opens in new tab)), Caitlyn stands by what she's written.
"I regret nothing. I have no regrets. This is my story, my interpretation. It is not done maliciously at all," she said in a previous appearance on The Talk (opens in new tab).
"This is my book about my opinions on things that had happened with me and my family," Jenner added in her Today interview. "Any time I express my opinion, you know, with my family, there's always challenges in doing that."
Despite the family tensions, Kim remains supportive of Caitlyn: "I wish her all the success in the world, but not at our expense."
