Chrissy Teigen, the unofficial queen of Twitter, recounted an extremely disturbing interaction this afternoon, in which a paparazzi photographer asked her, "If we evolved from monkeys, why is John Legend still around?" Cue the disgust. WTF?

According to her tweets, Chrissy and John had just arrived at JFK Airport in New York. The photographer was asking her questions about cooking when the conversation turned nasty. Teigen tweeted a play-by-play of the incident:

Chrissy added that hopefully they will find the culprit.

While there's no way of verifying this incident and we naively wish that people who feel emboldened enough to make racist comments just didn't exist, Chrissy's horrific account is still deeply upsetting.

The Twittersphere swiftly shared Chrissy's disgust.

Here's hoping this incident is followed by an appropriate resolution and the paparazzo is held accountable. If you rightly feel like humanity has taken a turn for the worse, there's only one thing that can help: baby Luna.
